There are about a dozen machines available in East Grinstead and many around the walls of Victoria Station in London. How many times have we passed through there and not noticed them?

Please remember to call 999 and ask for an ambulance before you commence CPR, if you are not able to call yourself please shout for help and get someone else to call for you.

There is no need to be frightened to use a defibrillator. Clear verbal instructions are given with the equipment once it is opened. It will not allow you to shock anyone if it is not needed
A person with no pulse will die anyway-so you cannot make the situation worse.

Some defibrillators are easy access and unlocked others need a code that will be given when you ring 999. The Ambulance Service will also tell you where the nearest machine is located if it is near enough to be useful. It is essential that an ambulance is called if there is no pulse present and before CPR is started, this is not a problem.
