COMMUNITY CENTRE

The former Primary School building is now the busy village Community Centre.  Not only is it the home of the Parish Council, the County Library, the Community Playgroup and the Police contact point, but there are many rooms, large and small, for hire.  Many societies, clubs and organisations meet here during the week and there is a rich variety of activities available.  These range from bridge, yoga and painting groups to tai chi and reiki.  It is also the weekly meeting place for the village Guides and Brownies.  There is a very successful community cafe that provides a very reasonably priced home-cooked meal three days a week and an Organic Vegetarian Cafe open on some Friday lunchtimes.  Both cafes, held in the mainhall of the Community Centre, are staffed by volunteers. Elderly residents enjoy the various activities and interesting speakers at the twice-monthly meeting of the Thursday Club.  Some members are brought to the Centre by volunteer drivers.  Once a month there is a Community Centre market and car boot sale, an excellent opportunity to meet up with friends and neighbours and maybe find a bargain!

SCALE OF CHARGES - PER HOUR

Hambro Hall (Inclusive of kitchen if required) £9.00 per hour
Main Hall £9.00 per hour
Kitchen £14.00 per session
Reading Room £9.00 per hour
Garden Room £9.00 per hour
Rose Room £6.50 per hour
Treatment Room (includes waiting area) £6.50 per hour

All of the above charges are subject to the 10% surcharge
relating to the insurance referred to in clause 17 of the Conditions of Hire.

10% reduction for 10 or more bookings.
