Notice of Co-Option
Forest Row Parish Council has 15 members.
Unfortunately, one member has recently had to step down for personal reasons.
So there is 1 vacancy.
The council would like to fill this vacancy by appointing (co-opting) a suitable volunteer from the community.
Basically, you are eligible for selection if you are over 18 and live or work in Forest Row or the immediate surrounding area.
If you wish to be considered please contact the clerk (in person, or by phone or email) giving a brief resume of who you are and what you could bring to the council. Please apply by the 22nd of November 2024.
Selection will take place at the meeting of the full council on the 3rd of December 2024 at 7:30pm, at which candidates will take part in a short interview before the choice is made.
Low Cost Counselling Service
A Low-cost counselling service supported by your Parish Council
Waiting times to access adult mental health support in East Sussex are stretched, with wait times varying from location to location; it is triaged, giving priority to those at most clinical risk. Likewise, CAMHS aims to make contact within 4 weeks of a referral received but experience very high demand for their services.
At the end of April this year, we asked Forest Row Parish Council to support our proposal to set up a low-cost counselling service in the village to provide financially accessible counselling for residents of Forest Row. With the council’s backing, we want to help as many people as possible with their mental health and ensure that they can see a qualified, experienced counselling therapist at a rate they can afford.
We offer up to ten sessions with a fully qualified and insured counsellor either online or in person. All our counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and have been qualified for at least two years.
Currently, we offer sessions to anyone aged 14+ who needs therapeutic support. Clients self-assess what they feel comfortable paying. The minimum fee is £10 a session up to £40. The Parish Council has agreed to a grant to support our team in their work locally.
Looking for therapy for you or a loved one?
The service works best if the fee a client chooses to pay reflects their circumstances. Call or message us to discuss.
We have both male and female counsellors who are all experienced working online or in person. To find out more please call or email Owen on 07806 485838 or owen@sussexcounsellingcollective.co.uk or Diane on 07515 165028 or diane@dianeburnettcounselling.com
Counselling can support you if you are anxious or depressed, struggling with stress at work or in your relationships, help you to overcome addiction and grief and build a better relationship with yourself and others.
We are also here to support young people who might be struggling with school or growing up and provide a safe space for them to get the support they need.
All our counselling is completely confidential
The service is managed by our lead counsellors Owen Morgan and Diane Burnett.

As a counsellor my job is to provide a space where my clients can learn how to make positive changes and support them to live a better life. I have an enhanced DBS and have worked for a leading youth charity and West Sussex Council supporting younger clients. I work with all kinds of problems and issues with clients from the age of 14 to 82.
Diane Burnett
Hello, I work via Zoom or from my peaceful garden room in East Grinstead. I work with clients with various issues and have lots of experience working with people affected by cancer. Being neurodivergent, I was diagnosed with ADHD two years ago; it has been a journey to navigate what this means for me. This does not make me an expert, but I feel it has enhanced my empathy for what being “different” can feel like.
